Go live considerations, DNS switch, infrastructure
Hi Gary. John, Mike, Sergey and I met briefly today to
discuss what will need to happen at the go live as far as infrastructure is
concerned. Here are some items to go over.
- My
understanding is that we are only switching www records for Avalon US and
Avalon CA. No other sites like booking or my Avalon were effected/redone
in sitecore and they will remain the same.
- We
are not planning on having any kind of CDN between Ch and public sites
- Certificates
are already in place and uploaded to Azure for prod
- Backups
are done on prod CM and CD web apps every Friday and are kept for a month.
I will need to double check if it includes Sitecore SQL databases backups.
- Auto
scaling is not currently implemented on Sitecore instances. But we do need
to address traffic concerns. I’ve included site traffic stats that you
send earlier. These numbers suggest we should consider spinning up at
least one more CD instance on prod. However additional costs might
be involved and we wanted your input on that.
- John
was asking about timing for go live.
- Sergey
recommends restricting Prod CM to certain IP’s, such as Globus and XC
networks, so it is not available to general public.
Thank
you all!
Olga
